(Portions reposted from NIAAA September 2013 Newsletter) - During the upcoming NIAAA National Athletic Directors Conference in Anaheim, California, each of the six workshop sessions will provide one workshop on the topic of the OCR Dear Colleague Letter, and what is currently successful in states regarding the provision of programs for athletes with disabilities. Two workshops will share what four key states have implemented over the years that have proved very successful. Registration for the 2013 national conference has begun. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the offerings of the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs. AAASP works with educational agencies to assist in establishing programs, policies and procedures relative to interscholastic adapted sports for students with physical disabilities. AAASP will be a part of workshop numbers 6 and 13. See you all in Anaheim!
